Much of the widely available Silencer packing you will find is "E glass" which is typically suitable for use at temperatures up to 600° C.
Often supplied as "Loose Fill" - which makes it difficult to fit - and can also tend to "Bunch up" - making the silencer less effective.
Acousta-fil Exhaust Silencer Packing is a recently developed and patented system for use in silencers.
Supplied in "Mat" Form - it is much easier to fit to a silencer - as the pictures show - and after it has been heated during use - it expands to fill the silencer cavity - meaning it will not "bunch up" and will be more effective in Silencing Exhaust noise - and last longer.
It can be cut to size easily - and is far easier to fit than most other Silencer Packing - we also have a Calculator to work out the optimum amount to fit for your application.
